If you have a little extra time, you can make a significant difference in the life of someone facing a terminal illness. Here are some ways to support hospice patients and their families with a gift of time and energy:



  • Help raise funds for the hospice program by volunteering at an event
  • Help with mailings or office work
  • Become a Hospice Patient Volunteer

Become a Hospice Patient Volunteer

After completing a Hospice Volunteer training program, you will be an important member of the Heart of Hospice Care Team. Working in direct contact with patients in the latter stages of life, offering compassion and a comforting touch through a variety of services:

  • Visiting with patients
  • Help patients write life story or family history
  • Errands
  • Household tasks
  • Caregiver respite
  • Specialized skills such as beautician/barber/manicurist
  • 
Nursing Home or Care Center visits
  • Special events– Health Fairs, Relay for Life, Community Events
