1. Jewelry+Cocktails+Chocolate+Shopping!

Ladies, did we get your attention? Grab your gal pals and head to the home of Louise McCulloch to peruse the work of Portland jewelry artist Kathy Shea, who brings modern artistry to heirloom treasures. Guests receive a 10% discount with proceeds benefiting Heart of Hospice Foundation.

2. Street Food at the Hood River Hotel

Take a tasting tour of the world’s best street food—no passport required! Chef Mark Whitehead will close up the restaurant and set up six stalls with bites from around the globe, including Thailand, India, Argentina, and Morocco. Guests can even pitch in on the cooking!

3. Farm to Table at The Gorge White House

Turn back the clock for a beautiful meal among friends at Camille Hukari and Jerry Tausend’s century-old working farm and exquisitely restored farmhouse. Gather around the communal table at The Gorge White House to share local beer, Columbia Gorge wine, and delectable Northwest cuisine. Awesome flourless chocolate cake and ruby ports will top off the evening!

4. An Intimate Celilo Evening

Tuck into the exquisite home of Forrest and Colleen Jones for an unforgettable dining experience featuring the award-winning Northwest cuisine of Celilo chef Ben Stenn. Co-hosted with Ben’s dynamic wife Carol, the meal will be paired with wines from The Pines renowned cellars.

5. Lorena’s Table

Exquisitely prepared and presented, Lorena Lowell’s incredible cuisine is raved about year after year. Join us for an intimate gathering in Lorena’s modern downtown townhome to enjoy an evening of edible delights from her native Mexico.

6. Barbecue Bash

Are you ready to throw down? Stand back as Hood River grill maestro Joe McCulloch puts Bobbie Flay to shame with his hot-coal wizardry. Enjoy the ‘cue in the gorgeous outdoor garden of wife and co-host Louise. Save room for over-the-top sinful desserts!

7. Feast de Resistance

The meal: seven courses of exquisitely presented seasonal Pacific Northwest, French influence, and Asian inspired cuisine. The spot: a gorgeous perch with nearly 360-degree views of Mt. Hood, Mt. Adams, and the Columbia. Your hosts: the ebullient Melynda and Jock Bradley, who has worked with 5-star chefs to master his craft. Paired beautifully with The Pines wines.

8. Egyptian Night

Indulge your inner Pharaoh for a trip down the Nile orchestrated by Ahmad and Noelle Ziada. Masters of authentic Egyptian cuisine, the Ziada’s will delight you with traditional and exotic dishes from the Nile Valley. Belly dancing optional but always encouraged!

9. Cha Cha Cha!

Grab your amore for an evening of Spanish tapas, luscious libations, and salsa dancing. Get ready to shake those hips as a professional salsa instructor schools you in the dance of passion. Hostess Susan Sorensen lends her studio and sense of humor for this unforgettable evening.

10. Deckside Dance Party

Bring your dancing shoes for a rocking good time at the breathtaking White Salmon home of Michelle and Dave Sliwa. Enjoy jaw-dropping views, live music, and beautiful grounds complete with a koi pond and deck/dance floor. Michelle’s D’Lish catering will whip up heavy hors d’oeuvres and summery sips.

11. Cellar Soiree

Disappear into the private wine cellar beneath Franco and Sandy Marchesi’s Hood River vineyard. Inside the intimate barrel-lined room, Italian opera will accompany Marchesi wines and multiple delectable, seasonal fresh courses from Italy’s Piedmont region, where Franco was born and raised. Beyond Delisioso!

12. Wine + Dine on the Westside

Bring your party shoes and a hearty appetite as Gavin and Michele McAlpine dish up a gorgeous Italian feast at their lovely westside home. These two consummate entertainers know how to throw a party, so prepare to be wined, dined, and thoroughly entertained by evening’s end.

13. Fiesta de Paella

We may not remember all the ingredients or the exact measurements, but watching Guillermo prepare his famous paella we know that love is the most important ingredient and it is sprinkled generously throughout the meal. That’s also what makes this party one of our biggest sellouts year after year. This family recipe—which requires special pans made just for this dish—will be paired with local wine at Guillermo and Jeri Fisch’s inviting Bingen home.

14. Cocktails + Art

Mix and mingle with local artist Mark Nilsson on the deck of his downtown home for a lively evening of cocktails, conversation, friends, and art. Check out the amazing views (on the walls and on the river) while sampling savory hors d’oeuvres catered by Xani of Divots.

15. Eastside Abbondanza

Follow your nose up to the eastside where Vanessa and Bernie Dittenhofer will be whipping up a glorious Italian feast starring Vanessa’s famous eggplant parmesan. This super-fun evening takes place in the couple’s beautiful modern home surrounded by gorgeous views. Bring an appetite for food, friends, and laughter!

16. Boathouse Bash

Hop aboard Suny and Dave Simon’s boathouse for a summer bash complete with swimming, boat rides, smoking hot crab and seafood boil, and refreshing cocktails. Great friends, laughter, and fun! Transportation from Hood River to and from The Dalles marina provided.

17. Ness-Style Wine & Dine

Come pull up a seat on the lovely landscaped patio of Doug and Donna Ness’s beautiful White Salmon home. Take a stroll to enjoy and take in amazing views of the Gorge, then dig into a mouth-watering meal from the grill accompanied by plenty of wine and good cheer. The traditional S’mores around the fire with good stories, friends and moonlight finish up the night quite nicely.

18. All-Veggie Feast in Underwood

Local foodies know summer in the Gorge is all about ripe, regional fruits and veggies from Moria Reynold’s Casa Verde garden. Come feast on a delectably prepared vegetarian meal by creative, culinary newcomer, Collin Carter while enjoying stunning views at the gorgeous Underwood home of your host, local hero and pro snowboarder, Mike Jacoby.

19. White Party

Ingredients: White hors d’oeuvres. White cocktails. White attire. Add: Rock’in music and a dance floor. Mix in: The good vibes and irresistible charms of hosts Sharla, Michelle, Steph, Carin, and Michael. The result: Hood River’s 2nd annual white party hosted downtown at Dopio. Let it snow!

20. YoHoH Tea Party

Don your Mad Hat—or other festive attire—for a holiday tea party hosted by our very own YoHoHs (Youth Heart of Hospice Helpers). This wonderful group of high schoolers will create, bake, and serve a delightful array of high-tea deliciousness at the Semme’s home. Come sip to the season with us! Every guest will receive a Lucy’s Informal Flowers gift certificate for holiday shopping.

Reservations are first come first served. Adults only please unless specified. Have your Visa or MasterCard ready. Checks must be received within 7 days of making your reservation. Shortly after making your reservation, you will receive an email confirmation. Host address and directions will be emailed to you 10 days prior to your dinner.

Heart of Hospice Foundation is a non-profit 501 (c) (3) organization. Your dinner may be tax deductible depending on your tax situation. (Please consult your tax advisor.) We will issue a tax receipt letter to the individual who pays for the reservation.
